The Extron AVTrac® is a low profile, floor-mounted raceway system with a modular AAP - Architectural Adapter Plate enclosure. Two 4-foot (1.2 m) tracks combine to create the 8-foot (2.4 m) raceway designed for use in any environment in which A/V devices cannot be positioned near a wall or other area where power, data, and A/V connections are traditionally located. AVTrac is a discreet, cost-effective alternative to floor coring for poke-through devices, trenching for floor boxes, and raised access flooring. AVTrac is ideal for use in classrooms, training centers and other reconfigurable spaces, and corporate boardrooms, as well as legacy installations and architecturally-sensitive environments.
The AVTrac raceway system meets accessibility standards for slope and rise as specified by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The 8-foot (2.4 m) raceway is designed to be installed underneath new or existing commercial grade carpet and is available in two versions. The AVTrac 482C accommodates matching carpet in the aluminum raceway top cap for use in new installations as well as those in which new carpet is being installed. The AVTrac 482R includes a black rubber inlay for installation in the raceway cap, ideal for retrofit applications where additional matching carpet is not readily available. For best results, installation by an experienced or professional carpet installer is recommended.
AVTrac is available with discrete AC outlets for the US, Central Europe, and other major world markets. US power modules include two, Edison-style outlets with prewired conduit. Power modules for Europe include one AC outlet prewired with double-isolated cable. The Australia Power Module includes one AC outlet and conduit only. A Universal AC outlet, which accepts a variety of AC plug types including UK, 2-Pin Europlug, Italy, Denmark, and India, is also available. The Universal AC Power Module includes one AC outlet and is available in two versions, conduit-only and prewired with isolated cable, to meet local market requirements.
Two AVTrac AAP Enclosures can be daisy-chained in a single raceway or mounted side-by-side on separate raceways utilizing the optional AVTrac Extra Channel Kit. The modular AAP enclosure supports all of the hundreds of available Extron Architectural Adapter Plates for a fully customizable connectivity solution. Popular AAPs include VGA and audio pass-through plates; voice, data, and control pass-through plates; and powered products such as Extron PoleVault and MTP Series twisted pair transmitters. The enclosure provides two double-space and two triple-space AAP openings, sufficient for mounting up to 10 single-space AAPs. Blank plates are also available to cover any unused AAP openings.
For installations requiring raceway lengths in excess of eight feet, matching AVTrac Extension Kits are also available. The kits include an additional 4 feet (1.2 m) of cable raceway and side ramps, which can be easily cut to length as needed.
