Due to continued success and subsequent business growth, Haslams had relocated to a brand new office and were therefore looking for a bespoke audio visual installation setup as part of the renovation work to their new headquarters. Before they approached the team here at Project Audio Visual, Haslams had already been liaising with a number of individual firms and received numerous quotes for potential installations. Our client was working with a dedicated design team for their renovation, and based on discussions with this team it was decided that a nine unit video wall was the best course of action for their new office. Other aspects to the audio visual installation were also under consideration but the precise equipment and models had not yet been determined. Haslams therefore needed to consult with audio visual specialists in order to benefit from their expert recommendations.
Review and Recommendation
Following initial contact with Project Audio Visual, Haslams then met with Steve Hudson, our highly knowledgeable Technical Sales Director. Steve began by discussing in-depth with the client exactly what they wanted from their new office setup. He then ran through a demonstration of the Brightsign XD1132 media player and discussed how this premium technology could be utilized to complement and promote their business.
For their video wall, Steve recommended LG 47WV50BR 47 inch video wall screens with Peerless wall mounts to hold the monitors discreetly on the wall. These were not only the best product based on the specific requirements in question, but also offered the most cost-effective solution of all the quotes our client had received. Reviewing the needs of the client as well as using his extensive experience within the industry, Steve provided further recommendations for the various meeting spaces within the office. Being able to suggest and provide further audio visual services was extremely convenient and beneficial for Haslams; as a consequence they did not need to network with lots of different suppliers for these services which would have been both costly and time consuming.
For the general meeting area, Steve advocated an Optoma EH415 projector with an Optoma electric screen, all complimented by a Bose mixer amplifier and speakers for outstanding surround sound. Understanding the need for a seamless and efficient presentation system, Steve turned to Barco Clickshare, which would allow Haslams to easily share and manage presentations from their laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
When it came to the conference room, Barco Clickshare was once again utilised for its easy, flexible and innovative presentation-sharing capabilities. Steve united this with the Sharp PN70TB3 70 inch interactive touch screen to provide effortless communication and display facilities, along with a Logitech conference camera 3000C for high quality conference calls.
Specifications and Time frames
As with all of our projects, the installation included thorough electrical specifications which, due to the ongoing work with the office refurbishment, had to dovetail with the office fit-out and main electrical work. Consequently Steve stayed in close communication with the project manager leading Haslam’s renovation to ensure that all areas of work were conducted harmoniously and one area didn’t hinder overall progress. Because the video wall monitors were being recessed into the wall, Steve liaised with the project team regarding specifications for the cut out, as well as speaking with the electricians regarding the optimum positioning of power and data. It was a tight 6-8 week turnaround which was very much determined by the progress of the office, but this certainly didn’t deter us! We understood the need to have a clearly defined timetable with realistic timelines, therefore Steve ensured that this was discussed fully with the client. Following these set expectations, the Project Audio Visual team worked hard to ensure that we arrived promptly on site each day and fully adhered to the timetable as agreed.
Following the installation, Haslams have seen their office transformed by the stunning quality of the new video wall. Boasting such a large new office, the video wall gives them a fantastic opportunity to showcase new properties and developments through a spectacular visual medium; not only are they benefiting from an eye-catching feature within their office space, the video has also augmented Haslams business presence within their location. Haslams were so impressed by the knowledge and professionalism shown by Steve and the team that they have since returned to Project Audio Visual for further display screens for their windows. We have installed four Dynascan DS552LT4 screens – securely mounted with Unicol single screen wall mounts – and these monitors utilise Brightsign XD232 players.
